eBay and the Chinese Delivery Scam

So you thought eBay was safer then Aliexpress? Me too.

But it seems it is now being used to defraud purchasers. The scam works like this:

  1. You buy something with tracking.
  2. The item is posted, but to an associate of the seller in your country.
  3. The delivery man, not knowing he is delivering to the wrong address, delivers and marks as delivered.
  4. The seller's associate can now list the item for sale again on eBay.

Meanwhile, the buyer, finding the item has been marked as delivered, has no way of finding out where it was delivered nor recourse on eBay.

Seems the Chinese have found another way to rip-off foreigners. And eBay have allowed this to happen.
