Last night I checked how bright the Joule Smasher Led Flasher is with a 10ms on period. At 50m I could see 4 Joule Smasher Led Flashers spread across the gate. That included one with a SMD led with a much wider beamwidth than the narrow beamwidth leds I prefer in this application.
Therefore, I'm going to reduce the timing
down to something closer to what is was by accident when I had the wrong fuse bits
programmed. When the current trial of 8 Joule Smasher Led Flasher's running on AG3 cells has finished I will use the results to help shape the on time for the next iteration.
