I have tested the pulse charging concept with three hacked boards from another project. The results suggest more robust hardware for extended testing is worthwhile. The hardware selected will allow me, in conjunction with software settings, to test the following scenarios:
- a variation of CC/CV where a constant current charge is terminated at the set point
- an automated disconnect at 50% charge for a time period measured in days before resuming the cycle
- pulse charging at different currents / duty cycles
- configurable for either Li Ion, LiFePO4 or Sodium ion batteries.
A few extra pads were placed on IO pins to allow for unforeseen enhancements at a later date.
I have some brand new Li Ion cells I plan to test once the hardware is ready, commencing in perhaps 4 weeks from now.
